Americal Legacy Foundation Board of Directors:

President: J. Roger Gilmore
J. Roger Gilmore is a combat Veteran of Company C, 4th/21st Infantry Battalion, 11th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division in Vietnam during 1971. He has worked in merchandise distribution for the J.C. Penney Company and twenty-seven years in various accounting positions for Exxon Mobile Corporation. Gilmore has served in a variety of leadership positions for the Americal Division Veterans Association to include its National Adjutant, member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the association’s Legacy Committee.

First Vice-President: Gary L. Noller
Gary L. Noller is a combat Veteran of Company B, 1st/46th Infantry Battalion, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division in Vietnam from June 1970 to May 1971. He has worked in management for a major energy company for over thirty years and then in retirement worked for the Texas Veterans Commission for five years. Noller has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Americal Division Veterans Association for over twenty years to include National Commander, Executive Council Chairman, americal.org website creator and Editor-in-Chief of the association’s national publication, the Americal Journal.

Second Vice-President: Ronald R. Ellis
Ronald R. Ellis is a combat Veteran of Company C, 1st/46th Infantry Battalion, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division in 1971. He worked in the mining industry for thirty-one years and is retired. Ellis has served in the Americal Division Veterans Association in a number of positions, including National Commander, its Executive Council and, for many years has been the association’s Assistant National Finance Officer.

Secretary: David W. Taylor
David W. Taylor is a combat Veteran of Company C, 5th/46th Infantry Battalion, 198th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division in 1969. He has worked in management positons in the plastics industry for twenty-seven years as well the Army Reserve Special Forces branch for twenty-two years. Taylor has served in a number of positions in the Americal Division Veterans Association including National Commander, Executive Council Chairman, Editor-in-Chief of the association’s national publication and as it’s World War II Historian. Taylor is a published author of military history, oral historian and publisher.

Treasurer: Spencer M. Baba
Spencer M. Baba is a combat veteran and was the Civil Affairs Officer (S-5) for the 2nd/1st Infantry Battalion, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, the Americal Division in Vietnam from December 1968 to December 1969. Spencer worked in management positions in the plastics industry Research & Development (R&D) for twenty-two years before shifting to pharmaceutical R&D management for twenty-six years. He has been the Americal Division Veterans Association National Finance Officer for the past fourteen years.

Merchandise Director: Wayne M. Bryant
Wayne M. Bryant is a combat Veteran of Company C, 1st/46th Infantry Battalion, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division in Vietnam in 1971. He has worked for over thirty-one year’s for the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a head inspector and fifteen years on a volunteer rescue squad, including the position as Chief. Bryant is also co-owner of Triad Embroidery. Bryant has served two terms on the Americal Division Veterans Association Executive Council and has been the association’s Product Sales Director for over fourteen years.

Scholarship Chairman: William “Bill” Bruinsma
Bill Bruinsma is a combat veteran and was a Section Chief in A Battery, 6th Battalion, 11th Field Artillery, the Americal Division, in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. After the Army Bill attended college and eventually returned to his pre-Army job as a design draftsman. After several years of designing tools and dies Bill became a Tool and Die maker for thirty years. Bill has been chairman of the Scholarship Fund for the past four years.
