Dedication set for Ft. Sill monument

The following presents information about the Fort Sill Americal Artillery monument dedication ceremony at Fort Sill.

The dedication date is confirmed for Wednesday, May 10th. The ceremony will be a one day event, scheduled to begin at 10:30am.   The  monument is at Constitution Park immediately adjacent to the Artillery Museum at Ft. Sill.  Other planned activities that day are tour of the post artillery museum and lunch at one of the post’s mess halls.

The Best Western motel in Lawton is our ceremony/reunion headquarters.  All the information on the Best Western’s rates and accommodations is listed on the registration form.   Our group rate is good from Tuesday, May 9th through Friday, May 12th.

Entry to the Fort Sill grounds is fairly straightforward at this time. Complete instructions for obtaining a visitor’s pass will be provided at the ceremony registration table at the Best Western.

There is a very strong possibility that our attendees will be able to attend a live firepower demonstration on Thursday, May 11th.   This morning eventhas been part of the annual Artillery OCS reunion for the past few years, and my POC on this is firming up their schedule in the next couple weeks. As soon as I know this event is in place, I will email each of you so you can plan yourstay in Lawton accordingly.

I encourage each of you to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. If you cannot download the attached Word document registration form, please contact me and I will mail you a hard copy.

Please contact me at this email address if you have any questions regarding the above information or the registration form.
