Memorials Placed - National VA Cemeteries (July 2018 Update)
Construction is now complete on five granite monuments honoring the legacy of the Americal Division during its three eras of activation as a U.S. Army infantry division. The final design concept was conceptually different that the original intent, due primarily to difficulties achieving the intricate design cut into the granite for the Americal Division crest.
The first monument was placed at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, located in Grand Prairie, Texas. Installation was complete in November 2017.

Our second monument was in place in April 2018 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

The third monument was placed at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan in May 2018.

Placement proposals have been submitted to the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little
Rock, Arkansas and the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. We are currently
waiting for word on the director’s review and approval decisions for placement at these sites.
